Improve people’s lives through research that applies the science of behaviour change

Researchers work with communities to design and implement innovative programs to achieve important changes in health. By applying evidence-based principles, faculty collaborate with communities to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions to promote and maintain health behaviours.

Mission: The Centre for Health Behaviour Change plans to undertake research to: improve people’s lives through research that applies the science of behaviour change. The group has a specific focus on working with people at risk for, or living with diabetes, and people with physical disabilities, particularly people with a spinal cord injury (SCI).

What we do

  • Develop, understand and improve evidence-based health behaviour change
  • Foster effective community-university partnerships to advance the science of integrated knowledge translation
  • Mentor trainees to push the field of human and exercise sciences forward
